RECORD ON THE RANGE
Old Binda Road Recording Studio/Oceanic Records is a joint independent music label and studio recording facility located in the NSW Southern Tablelands. The studio, professionally designed by Australian studio guru John Sayers in 2015, was completed in 2016. The recording label, Oceanic Records, was founded in 2007. The custom-built 4 room recording facility is privately set on a peaceful 190-acre farm overlooking the historic village of Crookwell only 2.5hrs from the Sydney CBD and 1.5hrs from the National capital, Canberra.
Enjoying a crisp alpine elevation of 1000m atop the Great Dividing Range on the NSW Southern Tablelands, the studio provides a welcome escape from the city to clear your head and get creative in a beautiful, calm rural environment. Our facilities include free accommodation (sleeping up to 6 people) directly adjacent to the studio rooms available to any bookings of two or more days of studio time, plus artists can relax in a huge indoor 6m heated jacuzzi swim-spa overlooking the rolling hills.
We can help make your recording ambitions a reality, from simply laying down some song ideas, to full-fledged album projects and everything in between. And it doesn’t have to be just music. We have worked on spoken word, audio books, theatre and sound design, family oral histories, film scoring, and radio drama amongst a varied range of sonic undertakings. And if needed, our distribution label Oceanic Records can help get your music and project out to the world’s many digital services for your fans to hear you.
The studio and label are owned and operated by Stephen Lindsay. With many years experience in engineering, production and composition, Stephen can bring a raft of skills to your time at Old Binda Road, whatever the project scope. He has worked across a wide range of genres, and is one of eight composers worldwide invited by Abbey Road Studios to help celebrate their 80th Birthday, recording with both The London Symphony and London Philharmonia Orchestras.
